NO GROCERY STORES TO BE BOUGHT
MR SAVAGE DENIES RUMOUR OF STATE ACTION (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, June 22. The attention of the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) has been called by the Hon. W. E. Barnard, M.P., to what he described as an absurd, persistent rumour that the Government was purchasing the SelfHelp grocery stores. Mr Savage declared: “People will insist on saying stupid things. We haven’t the slightest thought of purchasing any stores. We have done all the purchasing we want.”
