SERIES OF THEFTS AT FEILDING
CASH REGISTER FOUND IN DRAIN CPBESB ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) _ FEILDING, June 22. A series of thefts, the first for some time in Feilding, was committed overnight. At L. Jackson's service station a cash register was removed, being found later in a drain about three miles away. It was broken open and the cash was taken, but cheques were left. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company office was also entered. Nothing was taken except some rope. A third place entered was H. Dewe and Company’s wool store, where 50s in. cash and 7s worth of stamps were taken. The Glaxo factory at Bunnythorpe was also entered. The office was ran-' sacked, but nothing of value was found bv the intruder, and the safe was untouched.
The number-plates were taken from a car standing in a street in Feilding and the police surmise that there is a connexion between this and the thefts.
