HOSPITAL LEVY
Increase In Total Of £BOOO ALLOCATIONS APPROVED BY BOARD An increase in the total levy on local contributing authorities from £86,767 6s Id to £94,142 5s Bd, for 1938-39, as compared with 1837-38, has beerimade by the North Canterbury Hospital Board according to figures which were submitted to and approved by the board yesterday. A decrease of nearly £3,000,000 in the rateable capital value of the board’s area was shown in the comparative, table presented. Of the total which the board requires for the present year, £82,634 2a lOd is maintenance levy, and £11,508 2s 10d for capital levy. The largest contributory body is Christchurch City, which has had an increase made in its allocation from £36,926 2s Id last year to £38,662 5s 8d for the coming year.
