CAPTAIN CHOSEN
WEST COAST V. BULLER RUGBY AT GREYMOUTH ON SATURDAY R. King was appointed captain and W. Mann vice-captain of the West Coast representative team to play Butler at Greymouth on Saturday, at the weekly meeting of the West Coast Rugby Union at Greymouth on Tuesday evening. Mr A. A. Adams presided. The referees’ association, the secretary, Mr O. McLean, reported, had nominated Messrs N. Eggleton and W. McLaughlin, in response to a request from the New Zealand Rugby Union that the names be submitted of five referees eligible to referee matches. It was decided to refer this advice to the Westland Sub-Union for its consideration. Two applications for reinstatement will be forwarded to the New Zealand Union. / Mr N. Eggleton was appointed to referee the West Coast v. Duller game, Mr H. Seebeck to referee the Inangahua v. South Westland game, and Mr M. R. Bunt to referee the West Coast v. Duller junior game. The following managers were appointed:—Senior representatives, Mr W. Williams; local manager of Duller team, Mr F. Eggleton; junior representatives, Mr T. O’Donnell; Inangahua team, Mr H. F. Silcock; South Westland, Mr B. Kilpatrick. It was decided that the senior representative team assemble at the Park Hotel at 2 p.m., and the junior team at Rugby Park at 1 p.m. Fixtures for Saturday The following are the fixtures for Saturday:— Senior Representatives—Bundle Cup, Duller v. West Coast, at Rugby Park No. 1, at 3-p.m. (referee, Mr N. Eggleton): South Westland v. Inangahua, at Rugby Park No. 1, at 1.35 p.m. (Mr H Seebeck). Junior Representatives—Duller v. West Coast, at Rugby Park No, 2, at 1.30 p.m. (Mr M. R. Bunt). Third Grade—Blaketown v. Technical, at Technical Ground, at 1 p.m. (Mr W. F. Ellis).
