ELLESMERE GUN CLUB BEATEN
CHALLENGE CUP RETAINED . BY METHVEN
There was an excellent attendance of shooters at the special teams' shoot on the Methven Gun Club’s grounds on Saturday afternoon. The principal match was the one which Is held twice each season, for a silver challenge cup, by the Methven and ■’Ellesmere clubs. The afternoon was fine but a northwest wind made shooting hard, and the clays flew at all angles. In spite of these conditions, excellent scores were recorded. Methven, holders of the cup, were again too good for the visiting team. The scores were: Methven 101. Ellesmere 88. Nineteen shooters faced the traps for a 12 clay bird sweepstake, and seven put on the possible. For the six-bird match eight again scored possibles.
