New Zealand’s Rugby .representatives to tour Australia this season were announced by the New Zealand Rugby Union' this evening. There are few surprises in the 25 names, which include 12 of the South Island fifteen which trounced the North Island last Saturday, and four men who did not take part in the inter-island match. Ten of the 25 will wear the All Black jersey for the first time.

* The team was chosen by the sole selector, Mr E. McKenzie, of Wairarapa, on Saturday, but its announcement was withheld pending advice from the New South Wales Rugby Union that matches would be played under international rules.

' Representations of the two islands is fairly evenly divided -—l3 from the south and 12 from the . north. Canterbury has three men in the team, including J, A. llooper, who was passed over for the inter-island match.

Mitchell will captain the team, and McKenzie will be vicecaptain. ■ The team will leave New Zealand early next month and its itinerary will include three test matches against Australia and matches against New South Wales and Queensland. BAY OF PLENTY WINS AT DUNEDIN FAULTY HANDLING BY OTAGO BACKS (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN. June 15, The Bay of Plenty forwards played a big part in the team’s victory over Otago at Carisbrook this '"afternoon. The ground was heavy after recent rains, but the play of the northern team, composed mostly of Maoris and accustomed to hard grounds, did not suffer, and the team won'by 9 points to 6.

The heavy, bustling Bay of Plenty forwards may lack some finish and kick too hard at the ball on the ground, but they more than made up for this weakness by their solid packing and pushing in the tight and by their covering up when their backs ( were in trouble. The visiting forwards " were never dominated in the close work, and though the Otago forwards for a period in the second half began to force their way through in loose rushes, the Bay of Plenty was fully holding its ,own in the dying stages pf the game.. The bafck play of; the Otago team was well checked by hard tackling. The Otago .forwards gave Simon plenty ’of opportunities,. but; harassed by the breakaways, he: fumbled the ball. at times. The passing of the Otago backs never got them anywhere, and it- wias surprising that ■Trevathan showed such poor tactics. Seeing that the Otago passing was being- so well checked, it would have ■been far better had Trevathan tried the short punt in an endeavour to break through. be passing, of the o|ago backs towards the '6qd of the game was erratic, anil it was through :faiulty ■ handling that?> the ball, after Black had dropped a difficult pass, was ‘.taken to the other .end. b£ the field for Best to score. .None of the five Otago -ipart in the interisland game was included in the team.

The first half ended with the score at 6 points to 3 in favour of Otago. Trevathan kicking a, penalty and scoring a try, and Kaipara scoring a simple try for Bay of Plenty. In the second spell, E. Howell, for the Bay of Plenty, kicked a penalty- goal, and
