On the arrival of the liner Hamburg from New York the .police did not attempt to arrest Werner Gudenberg, who is wanted by the United States authorities as a witness in trials for espionage. A warrant is out for the arrest of Gudenberg, who escaped surveillance in New York last week. . An officer of the Hamburg stated that pudenberg ' would ’be handed over to the German police. Gudenberg and Dr. Ignatz Greibl (who also escaped to Germany) were regarded as trusted witnesses in the United States Government’s efforts to break up an alleged international spy ring. They were said to have fled under duress from Nazi authorities in Germany.
