HORORATA COMPETITION Results of the Hororata flock ewe competition conducted by the Hororata branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, and judged on Tuesday, are as follows. Tile possible points in Classes 1 and 2 were 84 —wool 23, constitution and carcase 28, evenness and type 28. In classes 3 and 4 possible points were 100—wool 28, constitution and carcase. 28, evenness and type 28. age 16.

The challenge cup for most points in the competition was awarded to T. F. Hight with G. H, Grigg and T. D. Jarman (equal) runners-up. Some 30 or 40 farmers followed the judging with keen interest, and the judges, Messrs J. Rudd and J. D. Henderson. stated that they had had some difficulty in separating the winners as the leading flocks were so even. MALVERN-COURTENAY The annual competition of the MalvernCourtenay flock ewe district was held on Thursday. Entries were made by exhibitors from over a wide district. The judges were Messrs T. F.
