LARGE CARRYING CONTRACT
DISPUTE OVER PRICE TO BE SETTLED
To settle a dispute over the prk* for a very large carrying contract Mr T. H. Langford. Licensing Authority for the No. 3 Transport District, will leave for Greymouth to-morrow. The dispute has arise* over the price for carrying 2600 tons of dredge parts and equipment fo* a gold-dredging company which H starting operations at Ngahere on the West Coast, about 15 miles north of Greymouth. The dredge, which is being built for the company by the Railway* Department at the Addington wontshops, is being conveyed by rail 1® Ngahere, where a special siding has been put to facilitate handling. From the siding it will be taken by road transport to the top of the hill above the town where the - dredge site is. The dispute has arisen over the pri<* for the contract for this section u» the work.
