WAIKARI DOG TRIALS
RESULT OF HUNTAWAY CLASS
The third day's trials of the Waikari Collie Club were held yesterday. The weather in the morning was fine, but in the afternoon heavy rain set in with a strong southerly. The wind was sufficiently strong at times to make dogs lose command when some distance up the hillIn spite of the disagreeable conditions in the afternoon the previous high standard of work was maintained. t The results were as follows: — H. T. Little Memorial Cup (Open to leading dogs in the first two events; points already scored to be added to tlie run-off points; winner holds cup from year to year).
R M Wilson's Fly, which came into the event with a strong lead from the previous classes, dropped some points at the yards, but had sufficient margin to win the event comfortably. C. C. S. Parker's Fawn, on the other hand, did particularly good work at the yards, scoring eight points. The last three dogs failed to yard.

Gorrie's Nip (53 points) 3. W. J. Hawker's June (491 points) 4. The number of dogs finishing the course was comparatively small, but otherwise the standard of work was well maintained. There were 49 starters. The feature of the run was the triple success of a L Watson's Sandy, which put up a good even performance, scoring 56 points as against 531 points by the second dog, R. L. Symonds's Did. The trials will be continued this morning, when the huntaway, head, bring back. and hold class will be run. There are 37 entries.
