MORE HOUSES TO BE BUILT
GOVERNMENT’S SCHEME IN
CHRISTCHURCH
, Tenders for the construction of a further 41 houses for Christchurch are being called under the Government’s housing scheme. The houses will consist of 33 single units and four double units, and will be erected on the roads now under construction off Selwyn street. Four tenders will be let, and tenders will close on June 7. This ad.vice was received yesterday by Mr E. J. Howard, M.P., from Mr J. A- Lee, Under-Secretary for Housing. According to further information, tenders for the new intermediate school at Milne street will "be called at the end of this week or early next week. This school will serve the southern part of Christchurch, and will relieve the pressure on the Christchurch West High School.
