A flight that iz claimed to be a New Zealand record was made by a petrol-driven model aeroplane at Gore, when a model built aqd owned by Mr L. Halcrow, Dunedin, stayed in the air for 18 minutes. * The Dominion record is 14 minutes, and as the flight was an official attempt on the record, with special timekeepers acting, a; claim will be made to have the record recognised. The aeroplane has a wing-span of six feet, and its' petrol tank holds an ounce of fuel, which was sufficient to keep its 1-5 h.p. engine running for approximately ’ 18 minutes.
