GIFT OF £IOOO
RED CROSS SOCIETY TO benefit fpSZSS ASSOCIATION TNUW3BA3CJ WELLINGTON, April 6. A gift of £IOOO has been made to the Red Cross Society of New Zealand by Mrs T. H. Lowry, president of the society. The money will be added to the fund for financing the appointment of a director-gen-eral of Red Cross, whose mam duties will consist of organisation and extension work, as part ox tne programme suggested by Mr Loms de Gielgud, who recently visited New Zealand on of trie League'of Red Cross Societies. Mrs Lowry recently made a donation of £IOOO to the league and rt was largely due to her that the league’s representative was brougnt from Paris to New Zealand. Other gifts to the fund are £IOO each from Mr M. S. Spence, president of the Hawke s Bay sub-centre, and from the Canterbury centre.
