PIGEON FLYING
PREMIER CLUB’S RACE The Christchurch Premier Pigeon Club conducted a race from Kaikoura during the last week-end. Mr M. Nelson liberated the birds, and with good conditions prevailing fast times were recorded. The winning bird, owned by Mr H. Manhire, flew the distance in, 2hr 38min 23sec. Results were:—H. Manhire's Finisher, 1054 yards a minute: McNelsh Bros.' Miss Stattart, 1047: A. Scott's Pioneer, 1046; J. E. Maxwell’s Miss Max, 1046; A. Frandsen’s Tex, 1038; Evans and Johnstone’s Atlanta, 1036: D. Broad’s Chaser, 1018; J. Sparkes’s Sen Sen, 978.
