SUCCESSFUL YEAR REPORTED From a financial point of view last year jvas the best experienced by the Canterbury . Caledonian Society for some time, states the directors’ report, which will be presented at the society’s annual meeting. The balancesheet showed a credit of £606 13s sd. The total subscriptions amounted to £155 12s 6d, as against £l4B 17s 6d for the previous year. Reference is made in the report to the deaths of Messrs R. Grant, R. A. Malcolm, A. Macquarrie, W. H. White, W. Hall, and the Hon. D. Buddo. The loss of these men to the society is a severe one, the report says, and their mlaces will be difficult to fill.
