At the monthly meeting of the council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association to-night official recognition of the following records was granted:— Mile Walk—l. Driscoll (Hawke’s Bay), 6min 26.45 ec (January 26, 1938), Women’s Javelin Throw—Miss R. Higgins (Canadian team). 118 ft SJin, (January 21, 1938). Women’s High Jump—Miss M. M. Bell (Canadian team), sft liin (January 21, 1938). The question of inviting a team of Australian athletes t* tour the Dominion next season is tf> be considered by the council at the next meeting.
