LECTURE BY DR. H. SUTCLIFFE
“MAN CAN ALTER HIS LIFE”
That man could alter his life by allowing his mind to harmonise with universal laws was an opinion expressed by Dr. Herbert Sutcliffe in the first of a new series of public lectures delivered at the Radiant Hall last night. There was a good attendance and the speaker was given an attentive hearing. . A . , “Man is not too insignificant to be protected or provided with a destiny in the Divine scheme of things,” the speaker said. “We are not driven by spasmodic, unreliable forces that toss us hither and thither, like a reed in a capricious wind, although our ignorance of Nature’s laws makes it appear so. Human beings need not be unhappy, disappointed, oppressed, discouraged, or diseased. We can control our lives. The immutable law of man’s present and future is found within himself,” he concluded. To-night, Dr. Sutcliffe’s subject will be, “Can Man Overcome Circumstances? ”
