Polo at its best was seen this afternoon, when the holder of the Savil6 Cup, Cambridge A, entered the final by narrowly - beating Hawke’s Bay in a fast, spectacular game. These teams are recognised as the strongest in the competition, and their meeting more than fulfilled expectations. Hawke’s Bay displayed superior combination and was early in the lead. After the third chukka Hawke’s Bay was leading by six goals to two. Playing daring polo, and making the game one of the fastest seen in the Dominion, Cambridge A recovered brilliantly, with K. Peake notching four goals. The winners, who have held the trophy for two seasons, won by eight goals to seven. ' v Scorers for Cambridge were K. Peake (5), and L. Kay (3), and for Hawke’s Bay Jock McKenzie (3) R MCKenzie (2), and W. Ormond (2). Other games resulted:— Junior Cup series—Morrinsyille 7, Waihou- 2; Waimai B 9, Cambridge C 4; Aotea 4, Matamata B 3; Waihou B s’ Cambridge D 3. , _ . .
