(HaiTTSH OFFTCIAI WIRILBSS-I RUGBY. March 21. Yesterday was the twentieth day of absolute drought in large areas in Britain. Temperatures up to 69 derrees were recorded, providing the highest readings since early last October. , . , This March has been the driest, sunniest, and warmest for many years, and the average day temperatures exceeded those recorded in any March foi 98 years. There is no sign of th(? dry spell One result of the unusually dry season has been a number of severe heath fires at Cannock Chase, Exmoor, New Forest, and some of the Su r rey commons.
