INQUEST HELD AT WAIKOA > traps* assoemnoar TmcrvaA-ir.) HASTINGS, March 22. The death of a 10-months-old Maori child after swallowing a cigarette end was the subject of an inquest at Wairoa yesterday. The child, before bong taVpn ui on Saturday was arawhng round the floor at its home, and. it is thought possible that it picked a butt np. On Monday the child was admitted to the Wairoa Hospital, where it died shortly afterwards. The verdict at the inquest was that death was due to pneumonia, brought about by swallowing a cigarette end.
