The other sections were also bigger than last week, but the fat cattle entry was again small. The fat cattle market was a good one, although prices were slightly easier than a week ago. when values rose sharply. Fat sheep prices showed little variation from last week except that freezing ewes reacted to the recent drop in schedule rates. Store cattle were very quiet and attracted little attention. Medium-weight bullocks realised from £lO 15s to £ll 10s, handy-weights £9 15s to £lO Ss, lighter weights £9 to £9 10s, prime mediumweights £8 to £8 12s 6d, light-weight £6 15s to £7 10s, small and unfinished £5 to £5 15s; good cows £8 to. £8 15s, fair £7 to £7 10s, medium £6 to £6 15s, aged £4 15s to £5 10s; extra good runners up to £3 15s, good £2 15s to £3 ss; vealers £1 Ss to £2.

The fat sheep entry was fairly big and eonsiderabVy larger irian that -el trie previous week. Freezing ewes made up the bulk of the yarding. Fat wethers were keenly sought by freezing buyers, and values were slightly firmer than at the previous sale. -The recent drop in schedule rates was reflected in lower prices for freezing ewes, while butchers’ ewes were similarly affected. Good wethers realised from 26s to 27s 3d. medium 24s 6d to 25s 6d, lighter weights 22s 6d to 23s 6d, unfinished down to 20s, good butchers’ ewes from 13s to 18s 3d, freezing ewes from 10s to 12s 6d.
