When the Government announced recently that it proposed to enlarge the size of school classrooms it was informed from Auckland that this would be just a waste of public money, said the Minister/ for Education, the Hon. P. Fraser, speaking at the opening of the Waterloo School, Wellington, on Saturday. “It was found recently that an old school at Hamilton built 40 years ago had rooms of the same size as the Government has decided upon, and if these were thought necessary 40, years ago, surely they are necessary now,” said Mr Fraser. “I wondered why the Auckland board did - not have this information of the size of its own rooms.”
