SUPERANNUATION AND HEALTH

Committee To Go Into Scheme CABINET DETERMINING PERSONNEL (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, March 7. The principal aim of the meeting of the Cabinet held to-day was to decide the personnel of the Parliamentary Committee which will be asked to consider the national health insurance and superannuation scheme. This evening the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage), when asked in an interview about the names of the men selected, indicated that finality had not yet been reached on the question, and that it would not be until to-morrow that the names could be announced. Then parliamentary sanction would be sought for the committee proposed. Mr Savage has already announced that every section of the House would be represented on the committee, which would be expected to hear evidence from every interested organisation. The proceedings of the committee will be open to the newspapers. It is obvious that the Prime Minister is extremely anxious to bring the present part of the session to a close so that this committee can get on with its investigations. The Prime Minister indicated that all, the reports on the question at present available to the Government would be made available to the committee, and, of course, to the public through the committee. It is expected that the work of the committee \ ill be completed and that legislation will be prepared dealing with the scheme before the House meets again early in June of this year.
