The Washington correspondent of the British United Press says the Government is considering withdrawing its Philippine defence line to Hawaii after Philippine independence is established in 1946. Naval authorities say that if the United States intends to stay in the Orient she must establish adequate facilities for overhaul and other defence necessities.
