COMMODORE OF N.Z. STATION
SUCCESSOR NOT YET CHOSEN CTBES3 ASSOCIATIOH TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, March 7. Although he was originally due to return to England next month, the Commodore commanding the New Zealand station (Rear-Admiral the Hon. E. R. Drummond) will not now relinquish his duties until May or June, according to a statement made by the Minister for Defence (the Hon. F. Jones). RearAdmiral Drummond assumed command of the station in April, 1935, for three years, and in the ordinary course of events the name of his successor would have been made known before this Mr Jones said that it was anticipated that the decision about RearAdmiral Drummond's successor would be made known at least within the next month, and possibly within the next fortnight.
