♦ MONDAY (Before Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M.) NAME SUPPRESSED A young man whose name was suppressed), for whom Mr R. A. Young appeared, pleaded guilty to a charge of being on the enclosed premises of the Young Women's Christian Association, without lawful excuse, on March 6. .Senior-Sergeant P. C. Felton said that at 5.30 a.m. a young woman at the hostel found the accused in her bedroom, kneeling at the head of her bed. He asked her to let him out and say nothing. She called the matron, and he made the same request to her, but the police were called. He was completely dazed through liquor and had no idea where he was, or of how he got in.. Liquor was responsible, and there was no suggestion of an ulterior motive. The accused was fined £6 and ordered to pay costs, in default two months' imprisonment. TO LEAVE NEW ZEALAND. . George David Watson, for disobedience of a maintenance order, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, warrant to be suspended as long as he pays 20s a week. Francis Joseph Yeoman was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called on within six months, :fcr disobedience of a maintenance order. KAIAPOI (Before Mr F. F. Reid, S.M.) INTOXICATED DRIVER Stanley George Barclay, charged with being in a state of intoxication in charge of a motor-car on the Main North road, at Kaiapoi, was convicted and flned £l2, and ordered to. pay costs, £2 18s 6d.
