Dr. Herbert Sutcliffe, of London, food scientist and mental analyst, held the attention of a large audience when he commenced his series of lectures on "Radiant Living" in the Radiant Hall. Community singing occupied a quarter of an hour, and then Dr. Sutcliffe introduced to the audience Mrs J. Cracroft Wilson, president cf the Plunket Society, who explained in a few words the, aims and objects of the Karitane appeal which has been undertaken to aid babies and mothers in New Zealand. Mrs Cracroft Wilson commended the appeal to her many listeners, and thanked Dr. Sutclifte for his very welcome gesture of assistance. The collection for the Karitane appeal fund realised about £l2. Dr. Sutcliffe spoke on what ne terms the art of "radiant Irving. Sying into effect the principles which he expounds, he had his stage decorated with summer blooms, and he .enlivened his audience with several community scngs.
