SIR THEODORE RIGG CONGRATULATED

Corder, chairman of the Cawthron Board of Trustees, has received the following resolution passed by the Research Council of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Re"That this council extends to Sir Theodore Rigg its sincere congratulations on the signal honour which His Majesty the King has conferred on him—a fitting recognition of his many years of devoted service in the cause of science as director of the Cawthron Institute. He and his staff have been responsible for discoveries of far-reach-ing importance to the primary industries of New Zealand, and it must be a matter of great felicitation on the part of the Cawthron Institute Trust Board that the work of the Institute should have led to so well-merited an honour conferred on its director."
