OTAGO TEAM CHOSEN (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, March 7. The following team has been selected to represent Otago at the New Zealand athletic championships, at Christchurch on Friday and Saturday:— R. H. Mottram. 100 and 220 yards; H. D. BRUNNER SPORTS SUCCESSFUL MEETING AT IAYLORVILLE Close finishes were seen in most of the events at the Brunner sports' meeting held on Saturday at the Taylorville recreation ground. The number of competitors was large, but a varied programme was got off expeditiously, the organisation reflecting great credit on the committee with Mr T. Morgan (president) and Mr F. Slater (secretary) in otiarge. A children's programme was also run off. The tearooms and sweet and ice cream stalls, conducted by the ladies' committee, did good business, as did various side-shows. Women's Nail-driving Competition—Mrs Single Women's Race—Miss McGirr 1. Miss McGirr 2. In the evening a dance was held in the Wallsend Hall. Miss Watson played th« music, assisted by the stringed orchestra. Mr E. Rowlands was master of ceremonies. A lucky spot waltz was won by Mise E. Gillanders and Mr Robinson. The judge of the waltzing competition was Mr C Duske, of Blackball, and the winners were Miss Campbell and Mr W. Weir.
