Regular Bachelor finished brilliantly to win the Leonard Stakes. Amiable ran a good race. A wind assisted towards the fast time of the winner. Ajax had an effortless win in the Lloyd Stakes, the time being three-quarters of a second outside the Australian and. New Zealand record. He has now won £16,850. Out of 15 starts, he has had 11 wins and three seconds. Ajax, who is engaged in the Doncaster Handicap at Sydney, is likely to be reserved for weight-for-age races. Evening Mist's second was regarded as a good Doncaster effort, but Ajax outclassed his rivals. The champion Seymour broke down and was beaten into third place in the Autumn Steeplechase. , • . Marauder was badly placed early, but outstayed the opposition, In the Australian Cup. He has now won four races in succession. He began with a victory in the Trial Hurdles at Ascot in September.
