BARCELONA RAIDED AGAIN

WIDESPREAD DAMAGE IN POOR QUARTERS CLOSELY-PACKED HOUSES BURN FIERCELY (Received March 6, 10.45 p.m.) BARCELONA, March 5. Two air raids were carried out last night, and a third at 1.15 a.m. They caused widespread damage. Many were killed, and closely - packed houses in the working class district are burning fiercely. More air raids on Barcelona followed later, making nine in 24 hours. The city is almost continually blacked out. The casualties are not known, but the first four raids resulted in 46 being killed and 64 wounded. An official communique announces that 100 were killed in the raid on Alcaniz by Nationalist bombers. GERMAN SHIPS PRESENT IN SPANISH WATERS PARIS. March 4. A Barbelona official communique states that since Februai'y of last year it has been established that seven German submarines, the numbers of which were quoted, have been in action in' Spanish waters. Five German supply ships, also named, have been present at the bases of submarines at Cadiz, a point near Ceuta, and in the Canary Islands.
