WATER SUPPLY FROM TANKS
"NEW ZEALAND SYSTEM" ADVOCATED QUESTION IN HOUSE OF COMMONS CTEOM OCB OVnt CORBB9POHIJKrr.) LONDON. February 9. New Zealanders who have to depend on tanks for their water and have often sighed for the convenience of a laid-on supply, will "be surprised to learn that the tank system is being held up in England as a model. Mr F. A. Macquisten, K.C., M.P. for Argyll, has asked the Minister for Health, Sir Kingsley Wood, in the House of Commons, whether he is aware that the water supply of New Zealanders and Australians in rural and semi-rural areas is derived from rain stored in large corrugated tanks attached to each house: that such water is surer than that which comes from the earth, is free from all typhoid and germs and, when boiled, makes the best tea; and that those who drink it after boiling are never afflicted wita rheumatism. , Mr Macquisten has further asked whether the Minister will provide similar tanks for rural areas in BritainSir Kingsley Wood has not yet stated whether he is aware of these facts or not. Perhaps the marvellous properties of tank water are as much news to him as to many sufferers from rheumatism in Australia and New Zealand
