WAIPAWA SEAT
v MR J. D. ORMOXD WITHDRAWS NOMINATION (PRtSS ASSOCIATION 1 EI.EGBA JI.) HASTINGS, March 4. Mr J. D. Ormond withdrew his nomination for selection as a candidate for the National Party for the Waipawa seat at the General Election. His decision was announced in a letter to the chairman of the Waipawa branch of the National Party; his reason for doing so being: "Because I feel at this juncture that nothing should occur which might in any way jeopardise the return of the" National candidate in this electorate."
