GRAPEFRUIT

VARIETY IN SERVING Wash the chilled grapefruit, dry it and cut into halves crosswise. Remove seeds with a fork and then cut around each flesh section with a sharp knife or grapefruit knife, separating the flesh from the white membrane. With scissors, cut the membrane free from the shell of the fruit, starting at the outer edge of the fruit and cutting towards the core. Next, insert the scissors under the centre core and free it from the fruit. Now lift the core and white membrane from the fruit, leaving the fruit sections intact. In adding sugar, put one teaspoonful in centre of each fruit half, and let it stand for 10 minutes in a cold place before serving. SOME NEW RECIPES Graoefruit halves with grape juice: Prepare halves of grapefruit as above. Fill centres with bottled - grape juice.
