REMBRANDT PORTRAIT BRINGS £7350
PROCEEDS OF LONDON SALE (BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.) . RUGBY, February 27. Chief interest in a sale of pictures which realised £22,395 at Christie’s, London, centred on a portrait by Rembrandt of his father, painted when Rembrandt was about 23 years old. In 1877 the picture was sold for £IOO, and yesterday it was purchased by Sir Edward Mountain for £7350. A Goya portrait sold for 800 guineas, and two Corots for 600 guineas and 460 guineas respectively.
