AVGNDALE CLUB'S OPENING FIRST MATCHES OF SEASON The weather was fine for the opening 5f the Avondale Golf Club's playing season on Saturday. The club captain (Mr & Liehtband) declared the season open. and Mr N. V. Smith, the president, drove the first ball. A mixed Canadian fourball competition was played during the afternoon. SUMMER SEASON CLOSED AT HAREWOOD

The last matches of the summer season 'were played over the week-end by the Harewood Golf Club. The clbsing day flagon was won by J. R. Woodward (24) with two good rounds of 69 and 70, giving him a net score of 139. He was followed by C. G. Penlington (9), 144. and C. L. Crowlev (8), 145.
