"NEW TYRES FOR OLD"

When Aladdin's Uncle (of fairytale fame) went about offering new lamps for old, you remember there was a catch to it—but there's no catch in the offer of Motorways to change your old tyres into new ones with their modern retreading plant, for Motorways guarantee every job. When the tread on your tyres has worn down dangerously smooth and you begin to think that in a few weeks you'll have to scrap them— Don't.' Just drive your car along to any one of the Motorways modern Service Stations (at Chaney's corner, at Sockburn, or at the Midland Bus Station, 31 Lichfield street), and an obliging attendant will quickly take off your worn tyres and lend you others in their stead. meantime they have been stripped down to the canvas casing, and an extra canvas covering has been added, the walls of the tyre have been built up and a special new coating of rubber retread has been moulded on. When you get your tyres back they are good for thousands of miles more wear —in fact some of the mileages that Motorways retreads have done would astound you. The cost is comparatively cheaper than buying new tyres and the more you think of it the sounder the idea of retreading appears. After all, in most cases, the rubber covering of a tyre wears out before the canvas shows any sign of wear. Motorways, by giving your tyre a new coating of rubber, really makes it new again.
