HIGHEST AGGREGATE POINTS TO SUMNER

Competing in athletic events at Lancaster Park, 200 children from seven district high scchools in North Canterbury took part in their annual sports meeting yesterday. Tennis matches were also played as part of the tournament. The most successful school was Sumner, which gained the highest aggregate points. In the athletic events, competitors had to face a strong north-west wind in running and jumping, and as a result no records were broken. The meeting was under the supervision of Mr H. Stevens (president), and Mr M. S. O'Donoghue (secretary) of the organising committee. Two members of the Canterbury Athletic Centre were official timekeepers.
