DEATH PROM TETANUS
WOUNDED HAND INFECTED
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TEI.KGRAM.)
WELLINGTON, February 25.
At an inquest into the death of Joseph Henry Preston, aged 35, an aero engineer, a verdict was returned of death from tetanus after an incised wound on the right hand. While on a visit to Masterton, Preston fell down some steps, at the foot of which was some broken glass, and nearby a flower-bed containing horse manure. Preston cut his hand, and- it came in contact with the flower-bed. A medical witness replied to the Coroner that horse manure was a common source of tetanus.
