GOSSIP
Mr and Mrs Blackbird were very busy all day, Ito they'd made a cosy nest from dry weed and stalks of hay, 2n a good thick hedge where none could peep !0r take away eggs and harm babes when they cheep.
SVhea five tiny eggs reposed in the nest, lOut went the blackbirds both clad in their best, Wo sit on the fence and trill out their news, And show off their clothes with their shining black hues.
They preened and they prinked and shook out their feathers, And sang with the thrush and sat
on the heathers, fEh€«- gossiped of flying—how to teach it to youngsters ifrnd children competing with all the best songsters. : —JUDITH HANNA, M.G., L.B.H.
