"The Press Ship" Home Recipe Book competition will close at the end of June, and books should be sent in then. This gives us quite a long time yet, so you may continue entering your recipes for a while. Ginger Biscuits lib flour; 2 teaspoonsful ground ginger; Jib butter or dripping; 1 teaspoonful of baking powder; 1 cup brown sugar; 1 egg; 1 cup golden syrup. Method:—Melt dripping in basin, put golden syrup in cup in oven to soften. Mix dripping, golden syrup, egg, and sugar together. Put in dry ingredients, and stirwell. Put out on a greased tray in size of a walnut. Bake in a moderate oven for about quarter of an hour.

Honey Toffee
lib sugar. 41b butter. 1 tablespoon water.
3 drops essence of lemon. 1 tablespoon honey. Method:—Put into a saucepan sugar* water, butter, and honey. Dissolve slowly over the fire, stirring frequently. When boiling take out spoon and boil auickly. til!. When dropped into cold water the mixture is brittle. Take off fire and add essence of lemon. Pour on greased plate. On no account stir after !t begins to boil. —WINNIE LANCASTER.
