AWARDS TO ENGINEERS
PAPERS READ *BY INSTITUTE MEMBERS (PEES 3 ' ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, February 24. The awards of the Fulton Bequest for the best papers presented by any member in one year were announced at this evening’s session of the conference of the New Zealand Institute of Engineers by Mr F. W. Furkert, for the trustees, as follows: Gold medal award: Mr F. H. Collins, 8.E., of Wellington, for his paper on designed workclle concrete. Special award; Mr P. J. Alley, 8.E., ’of Invercargill, for his paper on the soil mechanics of Southland. Silver medal, for best paper by a student: Mr E. H. Caraw, of Napier, for his paper on oxygen-cutting metals.
