CANTERBURY CLUB The championship beach meeting held at Waimairi last Saturday afternoon gave many prospective entrants in the New Zealand Grand Prix an opportunity of testing their machines tlhder racing conditions. The handicap races resulted as follows; —Four mile, Orchard 1, Baynes 2, Lovegrove 3; six mile, Richards 1, Lovegrove 2, R. Alexander 3, Wiseley 4. Prospects for a record entry for the New Zealand Grand Prix, to be held at Gust on Easter Mohday, are particularly bright, and it is expected that at least four Auckland riders will be Competing, as well as a contingent from Dunedin and Invercargill. It is hoped this year, If sufficient crankcase oil is available, to oil seal / the whole of the course, thus removing the dust nuisance, as,well as making the rOads safer for high speeds. Working bees Will begin preparations at the course on Sunday, and will continue every week-end until the day of the race. CORSAIR CLUB A social run to Leithfleld beach will be held on Sunday. A party will leave the depot at 10 o’clock. No beach races will be held, but picnic sports of every kind, for which points for the various cups will be awarded, are a feature of the day s programme. . . The date for the Moefaki T.T, races has been shifted forward a fortnight fed as not to inconvenience riders tuning for the Oust Grand Prix.
