season for Canadian GEESE REFUSAL 'OP SOCIETY’S REQUEST The North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society has hbt been successful in Its .attempt to have prbtectidn reitnposed on Canadian geese. Advice to this effect Was redd last evening in a letter from Mt J. W. Heeiian, Undersecretary fdr Internal Affairs. He said that the matter had been carefully considered; but the Hon. P. C. Webb, Acting-Minister for Internal Affairs, hdd adVised that the reimposition of protection on Canadian geese was hbt possible. 4 It was defcided to, make a Renewed application to the Minister, personally if possible; Urging that the protection be.reimposed. , The society had a credit balance of £l7B i7s sd. according to the financial fepSft presented by the treasurer, Mr C.
