RUSSIAN SCIENTISTS RESCUED

The Russian scientists, who have been drifting on an ice-floe in the Arctic for some time, are safe. After weeks of fighting storms in the packice, the ice-breakers, Tamir and Murman, reached within a mile of the scientists camp, and sent a party carrying Soviet flags over the ice hammock to the camp. . The Scientists took aboard the rescue ships all their equipment and records of the 258 days spent on the ice-floe. M. Stalin and members of the Soviet Government sent a wireless message of congratulations to the scientists on their heroic work and success; there were amazing scenes of joy in Moscow when the news of the rescue was made known.
