OVERSEAS LEAGUE

ENTERTAINMENT FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLBOYS The Canterbury branch of- the Overseas League decided at an executive meeting yesterday to join with the Victoria League and British Empire Society in entertaining the visiting public schoolboys from England at luncheon at the Sign of the Takahe. The chairman (Mr Heathcote Helmore) and Mr P. Selig were appointed representatives to the luncheon. The recommendation from the annual meeting that quarterly general meetings of members be held in future was adopted. The resignation of Miss E. Wilson, a vice-president, was, received, and a motion of regret and appreciation of the valuable work done by her was passed. Miss E. M. Thomas and Mr Walton were elected members of the committee.
