TO THB BDITOB OI THB PBESS. Sir,—l should like to know why there is so much Sunday trading going on in the suburbs around Christchurch. As most of the people have Saturday off to do their shopping, there is no necessity for it. But since the Labour Government came into power the shop owners seem to do what they like. I refer to those open on Sundays. The people seem to do what they like when they buy on Sundays. I think it is time the police did their duty and brought a few of the offenders before a Magistrate. It is no wonder the Grocers' Federation want the shops closed at certain hours I think myself that some of them are never shut. In my street you see a smallgoods shop selling a few pints of milk. Then you see a fruiterer selling a few pints of milk. Then you Me a, pastrycook she© selling a few
soft drinks. But all of them sell other goods beside. This illegal trading is not fair to others who obey the law.—Yours, etc., WAKE UP.
