Saturday was clear and fine, with variable winds, and yesterday was fine, with a fresh north-north-east wind, the sky being cloudy in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 83 degrees. Barometric pressure fell sharply and the reading at 5 p.m. yesterday was 29.60 inches. Wellington—On Saturday the weather was fine and sunny, with an overcast sky and a squally north-westerly wind. The maximum temperature was 69.4 degrees. The wind changed to a cold southerly at 6.30 a.m. yesterday, with rain, which continued throughout the rest of the day. The maximum temperature was 56.7 degrees. Dunedin—The sky was overcast on Saturday morning and there was a fresh south-east wind. In the afternoon conditions on the hills were misty and heavy showers fell during the early part of the evening. During the latter part of the day the barometer rose to 29.75 inches. Dull weather prevailed until midday yesterday, but thereafter there was an improvement and the sun broke through at brief intervals.
