Here is a statement made by Adolphe Menjou, popular film star of the World, who is now starring in "100 Men and a Girl." FROM "N.Z. TRUTH," DECEMBER 15th, 1037. Before the Board of Tax Appeals (Hollywood) Adolphe Menjon's lawyers told the Board that "For years he has been listed amongst the best dressed men of the world." Over 50% of his engagements, it was claimed, were secured because of the completeness of bis wardrobe. Seeking a deduction from his Income Tax return on account of what was virtually a "business" expense, they stated that his cleaning bills amounted to 1120 dollars (£224) a year. This is a practical tip in the importance of appearances that everybody can heed with advantage. As we have said before, it doesn't matter what a person's station is in life, man or woman, and no matter what their ability may be, it is by their appearances that they are largely judged.
