SYME—ARCHER

The marriage of Hilda Agnes, twin daughter of Mr and Mrs H. B. Archer (Southbrook), to Douglas Verner, only son of Mr and Mrs Alex. Syme, Paparoa street, Papanui, was celebrated recently by the Rev. J. A. F. Watson, at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. The bride's becoming frock of magnolia satin had leg-o'-mutton sleeves pointed over the hands, and the back of the bodice was fastened with small buttons and loops. Lily trimming In true lovers' knots trimmed the inset train, and the net yoke of the bodice. The halo, to which her veil of deeptinted tulle was attached, also showed lily trimming, and she carried a sheaf of golden gladioli. Mr Archer escorted his daughter.

Miss Aileen Archer, twin sister of the bride, and Miss Betty Archer, her cousin, were bridesmaids. Their frocks of Buckingham lilac georgette had Vshaped panels of accordion pleated georgette inset at the back to form trains, and the yokes and bishop sleeves were also accordion pleated. Cyclamen-shaded flowers composed their halo head-dresses, and they carried shower bouquets to tone with their frocks.

Mr Stanley Andrews attended the. bridegroom as best man, and Mr Lester Syme, the bridegroom's cousin, was groomsman.

The guests were entertained at a dance held at the Winter Garden. Mrs Archer was wearing a brown lace frock, a coatee to match, and a brown hat finished with a gold ornament. She wore also a handsome silver tox lur, and carried a bouquet of goldenshaded flowers. The bridegroom's mother wore a black and white marocain ensemble, and a black hat with white trimmings. Her flowers were maroon-coloured roses.

The bride travelled in a frock of Coronation green wool georgette, a short coat relieved . with rouleau trimming, and a Tuscan-coloured hat banded with green.
